Fourth one in the works
April 8th 2007
Mummypowder have been in studio all weekend recording demos for songs to appear on the next album. The button god Petri, who also mixed Mummypowder on their tour in Japan last spring, took care of pressing the record and stop buttons at the right moments and telling the band to play better, or else. Six new songs and one old one now have the basic tracks done and should be finished in the next month.

News, news
February 4th 2007
Mummypowder are currently working on new material to be released later this year. The songs represent the more rocking side of the band, although nobody knows what they'll turn into when they're captured on tape.

Current side projects by the band members include Michael McDonald's (not the old one, a new one) live band, with Janne on the bass. (Michael's album 'Finally' was the album of the year 2006, although it hasn't been released yet, which means it'll be the album of the year 2007 too!) Live appearances: Semifinal (Hki) on Feb 24th and Belly (Hki) Mar 14th.

Aleksi's also involved in Meinhof Valentine as a guitar player, and Robert's continuously busy with his Nuori Robert solo project.

Domo arigato!
May 31st 2006
Third Mummypowder album, 'Consternation! Uproar!', was released in Japan on May 10th, and the band travelled to Tokyo to promote the release and also to participate The Finnish Export Night at Duo Music Exchange, performing with DJ Slow, Don Johnson Big Band and Private Line. Parts of the show, along with an interview, will later be shown on TV in Japan. They also played an acoustic show at KDDI Designing Studio - this time the performance was shown live on mobile phone tv. The band would like to thank everyone who came to see them!

New men on the block
March 21st 2006
Although this page has been fairly slow lately, there's been a lot going on: there's now a guy called Robert in the band. (That can only ever be a good thing.) He plays drums, taking the space of Hese, who's been in charge of the can department since 2000.
